Dress Code

Student Appearance
Canyon Springs High School adheres to the Board of Trustees district adopted dress code in conjunction with the zero tolerance gang policy.
NOTE: Students may not wear clothing that is distracting to the school environment. No red or navy blue is allowed on any clothing, unless noted otherwise by the following guidelines. This includes extracurricular events, free dress days, and graduation practice.
 
Students must adhere to dress code in order to attend school for the day. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to insure that their student is dressed appropriately before sending him or her to school. Students not in dress code will be required to return home to change into proper attire, or parents will be asked to bring a change of clothing to the school for the student to wear.
Upper Body
Solid colors, any color other than red, navy, or royal blue. Colors that math the lower body clothing in color and shade are not permitted.
-Collared shirts are required.
-No sleeveless shirts or t-shirts are allowed to be worn.
-Clothing must be free of brand logos and graphics larger than 1 inch in diameter.
-Under-shirts and t-shirts, if worn, should be underneath the standard collared shirt, and can be any solid color except red, navy, or royal blue. The standard collared shirt must be buttoned up.
-Shirts cannot be skin tight, and must fit withing one inch of the students body measurement.
Lower Body
Any solid color except red is permitted. Jeans may not be acid washed, dyed, distressed, or multi-colored.
-Lower body attire may include: pants, capris, skirts, shorts, skorts, and culottes. No sweats or warm-up type pants are allowed. Leggings may not be worn as pants.
-All items will be no shorter than three inches above the knees.
-Clothing must be free of brand logos, holes, decorative stitching, decorations, and graphics larger than one inch in diameter. Graphics larger than one inch must be able to be covered by a belt.
-Designs must be contained to the pocket of the pants and may not extend to the rest of the garmet.
-All items must fit properly i.e. all clothing must be withing one inch of the body measurement of the student. 
-"Dickies" and "South Pole" brands are not permitted. Torn or distressed jeans of any sort are not permitted.
 
Outerwear
The only sweatshirts and sweaters permitted must have CSHS or college logos
-Coats may be worn over uniforms. Coats can only be worn in the cafeteria, outside, or in a class with teacher permission. No long coats allowed
Footwear
Shoes cannot have larger letters such as "N," "S," "W," or "E" imprinted or stitched on the shoe.
-Slippers and flip-flops or open toed shoes of any style are not permitted.
-Socks and laces can be any color except red or blue, and must be tied in a crisscross or parallel pattern, and not a blend of the two styles.
