Description
This is an area that I am greatly interested in as I love art, and I love electronics. Digital media is all around us and in this course, we will be taking a quick look at a few areas such as digital photography, Audio and Video (A/V) recording and editing, social media, video games (on of my more favorite areas!), as well as live streaming and episodic content such as commentaries, reaction videos, and so forth. This class will run Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, during 5th period (P5 1:40-3:00 PM). During this time I will be available to assist you via Google Meet from a link that can be found by accessing this Google Classroom.

Your assignment for this week will be to make a test for the class where you are checking to see if we have met our LEARNING TARGET:

I can describe the rules of framing and define why or how they are used to tell a story in a frame.

How you can go about that is up to you!

You can use edpuzzle.com, create a quiz on Google Forms, use Google Draw, use Google Doc where you ask questions, or any other idea you can come up with!

REMEMBER: the main thing that we are looking for is knowledge, not dictionary terms; don't ask WHAT something is, instead ask HOW or WHY.

Some Suggestions:

- Put a movie trailer on edpuzzle, and pause to ask how or why questions

- Use Google Draw to annotate some images incorrectly, and have students explain how or why the annotations are not correct.

- Put an broken rules series together where you break each of the rules, and then have students explain how and why the rules are broken.

- Include a frame, and create a survey in google forms where you have a multiple choice question where you have 4-5 choices of mood that the frame may convey, then have the student explain their answer in a second frame.

- Create a section of a Jeopardy style game. For example, focus on Depth, and then create 5 questions from easy to hard that all tie into that category (without naming the rule of framing; in this case it would be Depth). You don't need to create the WHOLE gameboard, just the leading, or overall question, with 5 more that get harder and harder.

You will not only need to have the questions, but you will need to provide an answer key.

As a reminder, here is a list of rules of framing:

7. Know how and why to break the rules!

SC: I can demonstrate this by creating or sharing an image that utilizes some of the the 7 rules of framing and define which ones the image utilizes.

Instructions: Go for a walk! Take your cellphone, a camera, or device that you can take a digital photo on, and look around the environment, then snap some images that you find interesting. Make use of the 7 rules of framing to "tell a story" or make your image more interesting. Spend about 15-20 minutes each day, and take several photos or save several images too your google drive. Then share at least 3 images on the class jamboard for others in our class to see (make sure to initial your work). On Thursday, we will go over the images in our google meet and review the 7 Rules of Framing as we investigate and annotate a few class samples. After that, you will need to analyze and annotate two additional class photos. Remember, that all of the images need to be school appropriate!

What you will need:
-access to a camera (phone, Chromebook, iPad, etc. etc.) or e-device with a web browser
-15-20 minutes of time to search for images, or take digital photos (I'd prefer that you take your own pictures)
-internet access to save your images to google drive (try to have at least 3 images), or upload them to jamboard.

Understanding who we are, and what drives us is important because the more we can understand ourselves and why we do the things we do, the more we can understand others. That...and it's just kind of fun to see what results we get.

After you have participated in the meet (or watched the video) we are going to use Google Draw to find, include, and then annotate some images to complete this assignment.
